Here's Help

If you are feeling overwhelmed, depressed, confused, suicidal or just needing someone to listen;

The Crisis Prevention, Intervention & Information Centre for Northern BC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional support, suicide intervention and referral information to the people of Northern BC.

The Crisis Centre has two lines;

The 24-hour line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

250-563-1214 or 1-888-562-1214 (Northern BC)

The Youth Support Line operates 4pm – 11pm, 7 days a week, after hours calls are directly forwarded to the 24-hour line.

250-564-8336(teen) or 1-888-564-8336 (teen) (Northern BC)

Youth line calls are answered by youth 21 and younger.

People in suicidal crises can also access help through the BC Distress Line Network which, like the Crisis Centre, guarantees free, confidential, 24-hour access.  Calls are routed through member crisis lines, so callers may hear brief messages while their call is being routed through to the first available Crisis Centre.  This service can be accessed by calling:

1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) (BC wide)

The Crisis Centre is a volunteer based agency, and has trained, caring, empathic, non-judgmental volunteers for you to talk with. All volunteers go through a screening process and have close to 60 hours of training prior to answering the phone.

The Crisis Prevention, Intervention & Information Centre for Northern BC and offers confidential, peer support.

The Crisis Prevention, Intervention & Information Centre for Northern BC also publishes annually a directory of resources available to people in Prince George and surrounding areas.  These Community Resource Directories are updated annually, and are ready for purchase in the autumn.  Please contact the Crisis Centre for more information.
